Argonaut formed in 2004 through a shared love of the Psychedelic Furs, Depeche mode, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and the work of J. D. Salinger, Douglas Coupland, Chuck Palahniuk and Phillip Pullman. The band has been building a live following around London, including shows at the Camden Barfly, Underworld, Dublin Castle, and the Bull and Gate. Argonaut started life as a two piece with a drum and bass machine guarded over by a replica R2D2 – the droid has now been relegated by a real life drummer and Lorna playing bass, making the shows even more exciting, energetic and exhausting to watch!

Argonaut have recorded two albums and several e.p’s in their home studio. Steve Lamacq has played ‘I want more life’ on his radio 6 show, saying that the song was “sparse, but I like that!” The songs explore cosmic themes such as love, death, parallel universes, and vintage dresses….the band are now anxious for everyone to hear and fall in love with them….

In the NME, James Jam wrote that Argonaut ‘put forward a good case for being brilliant…while their
commitment to youth, ideas and passion should be lauded and rewarded…’
